This is my fourth year as Artistic Director of HCC, and conductor of Ilumini, and together we are preparing for our most ambitious tour yet. This August, Ilumini has the extraordinary honour of being one of only 11 choirs from around the world invited to perform at the World Symposium on Choral Music in Macau, China. It is a remarkable recognition of the artistry, dedication, and spirit of these young singers. I wish you could hear them right now. They have worked incredibly hard, and they sound fantastic - truly, exceptionally vibrant and alive. Week after week, they show up with curiosity, discipline, courage, and heart. I could not be more proud of them. Just as importantly, nearly half of our singers rely on financial assistance to participate. One of the values I hold most deeply is that choir should remain a place where any young person who is willing to devote their presence, energy, and time to this craft can belong and thrive, regardless of their financial circumstances. Your support helps make that vision possible. It helps ensure that this extraordinary opportunity is available to every singer who has earned it.
